SP's Military Yearbook

SP Guide Publications' first and rather flagship publication, the Military Yearbook was launched in 1965 and rechristened as SP's Military Yearbook in 1992, as a tribute to the Founder Editor Shri S.P. Baranwal who founded the company in 1964.

Today the Yearbook is regarded and termed as Bible of information on the armed forces in the context of entire Asia and the defence industry world over.




Lieutenant General B.S. Negi
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command

Lieutenant General B.S. Negi was commissioned into the Assam Regiment on December 16, 1978. The General Officer has commanded a Battalion in Siachen, Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) “U” & 31 Sub Area in Kashmir and has commanded 14 Corps in Ladakh. He has participated in many operations such as Meghdoot, Vijay (outside Kargil sector), Rakhshak, Parakram Falcon and Trident as part of his command assignments. He has done all important courses of instruction at higher levels including Senior Command, Defence Services Staff College (India) and Command & Staff College course in Bangladesh, Higher Command at Mhow, and National Defence College course at Delhi. He has held important instructional and staff appointments including Colonel General Staff of an Infantry Division in J&K during Operation Parakram. He is a PhD in Strategic Studies from Madras University with research topic ‘China’s Modernisation and its Implications.’ He is recipient of UYSM, YSM, SM and VSM awards.

He is also recipient of GOC-in-C’s Commendation twice and Chief of Integrated Defence Staff’s Commendation.
