SP Guide Publications' first and rather flagship publication, the Military Yearbook was launched in 1965 and rechristened as SP's Military Yearbook in 1992, as a tribute to the Founder Editor Shri S.P. Baranwal who founded the company in 1964.
Today the Yearbook is regarded and termed as Bible of information on the armed forces in the context of entire Asia and the defence industry world over.
Manoj Mukund Naravane was commissioned into 7th Battalion Sikh Light Infantry in June 1980. He has had an illustrious career, and has held critical command and staff appointments in peace, field and in active counter insurgency environment both in the North East and in Jammu & Kashmir. He has commanded a Rashtriya Rifle Battalion in Jammu & Kashmir, an Infantry Brigade, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) in the Eastern Theatre and a prestigious Strike Corps of the Indian Army. He has served as an instructor at the Army War College and was the Indian Defence Attache in Myanmar. He took over as the 20th General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) on 1 December 2017. The credo and the guiding spirit behind the Army Training Command is, ‘Excellence in the Art and Science of War’. Lt General Manoj Mukund Naravane is highly suited to steer ARTRAC to greater achievements, professional excellence and play a significant role in preparing the Indian Army to win future wars across the entire spectrum of conflict.
His civil qualifications include a Masters degree in Defence Studies from Chennai University and an M. Phil in Defence and Management Studies from DAVV Indore. He is a recipient of AVSM, SM and VSM awards.
